Engineering Research Center of Intelligent Process Systems Engineering(Ministry of Education) was approved by the Ministry of Education in 2007. The Center aims to research the key scientific and engineering technology issues such as whole process modeling and simulation, digital twin, operation optimization, intelligent control and safety engineering that restrict the development of industrial process, on the basis of the comprehensive utilization of system engineering theory and method, artificial intelligence, control science and engineering, chemical engineering, computer science and technology and other interdisciplinary technologies, and carry out independent technological innovation to explore new technologies and methods of modern process system engineering, and achieve new breakthroughs in strengthening, optimizing, safety, energy saving and consumption reduction of production process and intelligent engineering; Develop intelligent modeling, optimization and safety control system and integration platform with independent intellectual property rights and intelligent organization that is suitable for China’s national conditions, and plan, coordinate, control and manage the production process, to achieve stable production, high quality, high yield and high benefit; Cultivate national-level backbone talents in the field of scientific research, technology research and development and engineering application in the field of intelligent engineering, and provide technical support and application demonstration projects for process industry enterprises. The Center has now the technological advantages in computational intelligence, intelligent modeling, advanced control, intelligent optimization, fault diagnosis and alarm management, multi-sensor fusion and intelligent detection, energy efficiency evaluation and system optimization, virtual reality and emergency rescue, etc., research and develop the practical software system driven by artificial intelligence, and carry out technology transfer, transformation and engineering popularization and application to produce a significant economic and social benefits, establish a distinctive important position among the same industry in the domestic and foreign market. The Center is widely praised by the domestic and foreign counterparts.
