Recently, the funding results of the "Postdoctoral Innovation Talent Support Program" for the year 2023 have been officially announced, and our institution's faculty postdoctoral fellow, Xin Ma, has made the list. This is the first time that our college's teachers have been approved for such a project.

Xin Ma is a Ph.D. in engineering and has been working as a faculty postdoctoral fellow since March 2023. Her postdoctoral supervisor is Academician Jinji Gao, and her doctoral supervisor is Professor Youqing Wang.Currently, Xin Ma has published more than 30 papers, including 12 as the first author or corresponding author, in international top journals such as "IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics" and "IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering". She has also hosted several funds, such as the National Natural Science Youth Fund, the Postdoctoral Innovation Talent Support Program, the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, and the Central University's Free Exploration Project.

She is a member of the Safety Analysis and Intelligent Decision Laboratory, which is led by Prof. Youqing Wang, a national outstanding youth scientist and IET Fellow. He is currently the Dean of the School of Information Science and Technology at Beijing University of Chemical Technology. Prof. Wang has published more than 120 SCI journal papers, with more than 2,000 citations in SCI, including more than 30 academicians from domestic and foreign institutions. He has led over 20 scientific research projects, served as an editorial board member of 9 international journals, and chaired the program committee of 8 academic conferences. He is the first scholar from mainland China to receive the Best Paper Award from the Journal of Process Control and the ADCHEM Young Author Award. He has also received the second prize of the Natural Science Award from the Ministry of Education, the second prize of the Beijing Natural Science Award, and the second prize of the Shandong Natural Science Award. The research directions of the team include chemical safety analysis, fault diagnosis and fault-tolerant control, iterative learning control, pursuit-evasion games, multi-agent systems, and multi-source heterogeneous data representation learning.

The project approved for Xin Ma this time is titled "Intelligent Fault Detection and Complex Fault Diagnosis Methods for Dynamic Processes in Petrochemical Systems." The research content includes state monitoring of petrochemical systems, data-driven detection techniques, and diagnostic methods for complex faults. The aim is to ensure the safe operation of petrochemical systems. The plan will utilize data-driven intelligent theories and methods for research and the expected outcome will be industrial applications in petrochemical enterprises, providing technical support for the safety and reliability of large-scale equipment.

The Postdoctoral Innovation Talent Support Program combines national laboratories and other key research bases, aiming at national major strategies, strategic high-tech, and basic scientific frontiers. Through individual applications, recommendations from proposed host institutions, and expert evaluations, a group of outstanding recent or new graduate Ph.D. candidates are selected for special funding to engage in postdoctoral research work, with the aim of accelerating the training of a group of internationally renowned innovative talents.
