Professor Wang Youqing from Our University Elected as Fellow of the Chinese Association of Automation

On October 11th, it was learned at the 2025 China Automation Congress that Professor Wang Youqing of our university was elected as a Fellow of the Chinese Association of Automation (CAA).

Professor Wang Youqing is a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). He currently serves as the Dean of the College of Information Science and Technology at Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT). Professor Wang has long been engaged in research in the fields of process safety control, intelligent condition monitoring, and chemical safety assessment. He has presided over more than 30 scientific research projects, including projects of the National Key R&D Program, the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, the National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars, key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the Fok Ying-Tong Education Foundation Young Teachers Fund. He is the first scholar from Mainland China to win both the Best Paper Award of the Journal of Process Control and the Young Author Award of ADCHEM. In addition, he has also been awarded the First Prize of the Natural Science Award of the Chinese Association of Automation, the Second Prize of the Natural Science Award of the Ministry of Education, the Second Prize of the Beijing Natural Science Award, the Second Prize of the Shandong Natural Science Award, and the Fok Ying-Tong Education Foundation Young Teachers Award, among others.

Founded in 1961, the Chinese Association of Automation is one of the earliest national first-level academic mass organizations in China and an important social force for the development of China's automation, information, and intelligent technology undertakings. The title of CAA Fellow is the highest academic honor for members of the association, aiming to recognize scientists and technologists who have made outstanding contributions to the development of automation, intelligentization, and information science and technology, or have made remarkable contributions to the service of the association. A total of 10 individuals were elected as Fellows this time, and it is also the first time that Fellows born in the 1980s have appeared.
