From September 26th to 28th, the National Finals of the 7th China Postgraduate Robot Innovation and Design Competition was successfully held in Jinan, Shandong Province. A total of 1,545 teams from 224 postgraduate training institutions registered for the competition. After the preliminary review, 325 teams from 104 universities and research institutes finally advanced to the national finals.
After two days of intense competition, the team "Hua'an Zhixun" (Chemical Safety Intelligent Inspection), composed of Huo Dongjie, Wang Zixu, Wang Dengshuo, Yu Sihuang and Yan Yukang under the guidance of Professor Cao Zhengcai and Associate Professor Zhang Dong from the College of Information Science and Technology, won the national championship with their entry titled "Zhixun Ultra"—Embodied Intelligent Inspection Robot for Industrial Scenarios. This achievement marks a historic breakthrough for the university in winning this award (breaking the university's "zero record" in this award category).
The China Postgraduate Robot Innovation and Design Competition is guided by the Department of Degree Management and Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Education, and sponsored by the Chinese Society of Academic Degrees and Graduate Education as well as the Youth Science and Technology Center of the China Association for Science and Technology. It is one of the "China Postgraduate Innovation and Practice Series Competitions" and also one of the national-level postgraduate discipline competitions with the highest level, largest scale and widest influence in China at present.
