The Graduate School of Information, Production and Systems (IPS) of Waseda University, Japan, Visits Our College to Host an Overseas Study Program Promotion Seminar

To broaden students' international horizons, enhance the international competitiveness of talent development, establish a platform for international educational cooperation, and further advance global exchanges and collaboration, the College of Information Science and Technology specially invited Professor Kazuma Mawatari from the Graduate School of Information, Production and Systems (IPS) of Waseda University, Japan, to host an overseas study program promotion seminar on the afternoon of September 15, 2025. Professor Li Dazi, Vice Dean of Academic Affairs of the School, Professor Dong Yiyang from the School of Life Sciences, and representatives of some teachers and students attended the seminar. The seminar was chaired by Vice Dean Li Dazi.



At the seminar, Vice Dean Li Dazi first introduced Professor Kazuma Mawatari to the teachers and students present. Professor Mawatari is an internationally renowned expert in analytical chemistry and currently serves as a professor at the IPS Graduate School of Waseda University. He has long been committed to research in fields such as micro-nano fluidics engineering, laser spectroscopy, and mobile analytical Internet of Things, and has achieved a number of important results, especially in the design and manufacturing of microfluidic chips and single-molecule detection technology.

Professor Kazuma Mawatari gave a detailed introduction to the teachers and students present on the IPS Graduate School’s development history, master’s program curriculum, supervisors’ research directions, and scholarship policies, among other content. He stated that IPS boasts a diversified educational system, bringing together students from diverse backgrounds. It conducts cutting-edge technological research in an environment of "industry-academia-government" tripartite collaboration and applies innovative achievements to society. Upholding the three core principles of Waseda University, IPS is committed to nurturing outstanding talents with lofty aspirations, a spirit of challenge, and a global perspective.

Finally, Professor Li Dazi and Professor Dong Yiyang delivered speeches respectively. They thanked the IPS Graduate School of Waseda University for providing valuable overseas study information and an exchange platform for the students of our school, and encouraged the students to actively broaden their international horizons and continuously enhance their comprehensive capabilities through overseas study.
