Beijing University of Chemical Technology Secures Hosting Rights for the 20th CIMC "Siemens Cup" China Intelligent Manufacturing Challenge National Finals

On the afternoon of April 17, 2026, the first meeting of the National Organizing Committee of the 20th CIMC "Siemens Cup" China Intelligent Manufacturing Challenge was successfully held. The meeting reviewed the newly added sub-competition zones and host institutions for the national finals in 2026, laying a solid foundation for the smooth holding of the 20th competition.

Professor Li Dazi, Associate Dean of Teaching at the College of Information Science and Technology, delivered a presentation on behalf of Beijing University of Chemical Technology regarding the bid to host the national finals. She stated that the university attaches great importance to hosting this national Class A competition. Relying on its superior disciplines such as Control Science and Engineering, the university will integrate national-level scientific research platforms, high-caliber faculty, and comprehensive engineering practice conditions to form a professional competition support team. It will make all-round efforts in venue facilities, technical support, competition operation, logistics services and other aspects to strive for a high-level, distinctive, safe and orderly national finals. Taking the hosting of the competition as an opportunity, the university will further advance the construction of emerging engineering education, strengthen the cultivation of students’ engineering practice and innovation capabilities, and support the selection and nurturing of top innovative talents in the field of intelligent manufacturing.

Upon deliberation and approval by the organizing committee, the 20th CIMC "Siemens Cup" China Intelligent Manufacturing Challenge National Finals in 2026 will be hosted by Beijing University of Chemical Technology.

Formerly known as the National University Student Control Simulation Challenge and the National University Student Industrial Automation Challenge, the CIMC "Siemens Cup" China Intelligent Manufacturing Challenge was founded in 2006. In 2010, the competition was included in the Approval of 2010 College Student Competition Funding Projects issued by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance, and listed in the 2010 List of Funded College Student Competition Projects. In 2019, it was selected into the National Ranking of Discipline Competitions for Ordinary Colleges and Universities by the Chinese Society of Higher Education. In the same year, its robotics event was included in the Innovation Index of Robotics Competitions for Chinese Universities by the same society. Supported by more than 1,000 universities across China, it has become the largest and most influential student competition in the field of intelligent manufacturing in China.
