In April 2026, the provincial preliminary contests of the 17th Blue Bridge Cup National University Software and Information Technology Competition were held simultaneously across 31 provinces, municipalities directly under the Central Government and autonomous regions nationwide. More than 250,000 contestants from over 2,000 universities competed fiercely in eight competition tracks including the Software Track and Electronics Track. Our students delivered an outstanding performance in this competition: a total of 244 students won provincial and ministerial-level awards (135 for the Software Track and 109 for the Electronics Track), marking a record high number of awardees in our university’s competition history. Among them, 42 students received provincial and ministerial first prizes (24 from the Software Track and 18 from the Electronics Track) and qualified for the national final.

The national final of the 17th Blue Bridge Cup was successfully held on June 6, where our contestants achieved remarkable results. In the Software Track, our participants won 3 national first prizes, 7 national second prizes and 8 national third prizes. In the Electronics Track, they claimed 1 national first prize, 5 national second prizes and 9 national third prizes.

The Blue Bridge Cup National University Software and Information Technology Competition is a key event included in the National University Discipline Competition Ranking List and has run for 17 consecutive sessions with a cumulative participation of over 1.7 million participants. As a nationwide IT discipline competition for university students, the Blue Bridge Cup adheres to the mission of "rooted in industry, highlighting practice, encouraging extensive participation and boosting employment". Closely aligned with key information technology fields urgently needed for social development, the competition is committed to cultivating students’ practical capabilities and innovative thinking.

For a long time, the Academic Affairs Office and the School of Information have attached great importance to the organization of discipline competitions. Centered on the cultivation of practical and innovative abilities, we have established an all-round diversified talent training model for competitions featuring "digital and intelligent empowerment", "integration of competition and teaching", "integration of science and education", and "integration of industry and education", so as to cultivate innovative engineering talents with innovative minds, solid hands-on capabilities and global vision.

The outstanding results our students achieved in the Blue Bridge Cup national final fully demonstrate the remarkable outcomes of our long-term education model of "promoting teaching through competitions and integrating competitions with teaching". The competition has greatly stimulated students’ initiative and realized the educational goals of "practicing via contests, improving teaching via contests, optimizing curriculum reform via contests, and boosting learning via contests". Moving forward, we will further deepen this development path, consolidate the foundation for cultivating practical and innovative talents, and make greater contributions to advancing the university’s Double First-Class Initiative and fostering high-quality innovative talents.
